Does LiberKey work with exFAT ?Hi,
I have a 128 Gb pendrive, so it uses exFAT file system. I just installed LiberKey and when I try to run it, I see this message: "G:LiberkeyLiberKey.exe The CPU NTVDM found a non-allowed instruction. CS:06fb IP:0100 OP:ff ff ff ff ff Chose 'Close' to exit the application." If I chosse Ignore, the IP:0100 turns IP:0101, then IP:0102 and so on. Is it because this software does not work in exFAT file systems?
Re:Does LiberKey work with exFAT ?Hello mogix and welcome to the forum.
It seems that you are the first user who tried to install Liberkey on a 128 Gb pendrive with ExFAT format. After search, only Acidben has a key that can be formated in ExFat, but I don't know if he has tried it since he got his key some 6 months ago (message 13823)he was using NTFS. Sorry I can't give you more help for the moment. JP4U
Re:Does LiberKey work with exFAT ?Thank you for your attention.
I'm aware exFAT is very young. I'm not a specialist but I think exFAT and .exe files don't get along very well. What is the maximum size NTFS manages? If I split my pendrive in two sections, a smaller one (20Gb perhaps) in NTFS and the rest in exFAT. Would this solve my problem? I think 20Gb is more than enough to have several portable applications and LiebrKey. Please, let me know what you think. Mogix!
Re:Does LiberKey work with exFAT ?At these moment my Liberkey (Ultimate with portable personnal software) is less than 3Gb.
For your problem with ExFAT did you install these Microsoft update on your PC: KB955704? JP4U
Re:Does LiberKey work with exFAT ?Yes, I did.
Otherwise my pendrive wouldn't even work. Before installing this, it used to say 0 bytes free and 0 bytes used. I will try to split in two sections, onde 4Gb with FAT32 and the rest in exFAT. If it works, I will post it here.
Re:Does LiberKey work with exFAT ?Hey!
I have news. I think there must be a resident virus on my pendrive. I tested a HP's software in another pendrive with the same symptoms and it worked. (I forgot mine at work) As soon as I test on mine I will post it here.
Re:Does LiberKey work with exFAT ?Well, apparently the resident-virus was removed.
How ever, in exFAT, I got the same error when trying to launch LiberKey. "G:LiberkeyLiberKey.exe The CPU NTVDM found a non-allowed instruction. CS:06fb IP:0100 OP:ff ff ff ff ff Chose 'Close' to exit the application." In FAT32, it was launched, but not successfully. It showed three errors in a row: "Cannot run Close Splash screen (silent)" After clicking OK, the next was: "Cannot run Check new LiberKey release (silent)" After clicking OK, the next was: "Cannot run Check software updates (silent)" After clicking OK, LiberKey was launched. But, when I tried to start a software, many of them returned an error: "Cannot run SOFTWARE!" (SOFTWARE means the name of each software) Others appeard: "LiberKey Portabilizer directory not found! Do not forget to add it!" the rest of the message asked to enter the forum. Others launched the prompt command of DOS and immediately closed. Others never closed and DOS was opened forever. I need support. Help, please.
