MYPhoneExplorer is the best software to manage the Sony Ericsson phones, if it was added in the LiberKey, it will help a lot. The main characteristic of LiberKey is the update, very nice this feature.

Is there not one software that will work with other brands as well, instead of only Sony Ericsson?

There is no software which handels *all* phones. MPE is the best (!) one for SE and works portable as I used it for years via my USB stick.
