OK, I've used BRU for some weeks now, and, honestly... I keep going back to RenameIt!, or simply using xPlorer² which allows multi-renaming.
Yesterday I had to rename a lot of pictures, for which I use the EXIF or IPTC date and time. BRU doesn't have that option. For this I had to use Siren, yet another file renamer (but biased to photographs and audio tags).
I couldn't find EXIF or IPTC tags in BRU, but maybe they're there. If they are, they are hard to find, and no good for me.
Sorry...

Huh... OK, but I honestly won't use it, as discussed in this forum... I still use RenameIt!. Actually, I think I suggested RenameIt! a while ago.

Option -> Extract -> Exif data

Hmmm... too complicated. I'm using Siren to rename files with EXIF / IPTC info, and RenameIt! for all others. And xPlorer² has multi-rename tools as well anyway.
