The same thing has happened on two of my usb drives. I download Liberkey and then install it. I update my apps using the built in tool. The apps download and then I get errors that say that the apps are being used and cant be installed. I have made sure none are open but when I select retry no luck. After the failed update my whole drive is write protected and I can not format or delete anything. When I open Liberkey no applications show up. When I close Liberkey I get this error "Access violation at address 004E795E in module 'LKrun.exe'. Read of address 00000000.".

No there is not a write protect switch on my usb and I have used numerous Repair tools and they have not been successful. I have also regedited and still no luck. Both drives are basicly useless now and would love to fix them as they were not free.


Any help would be appreciated.

LiberKey doesn't modify write access or other rights access of the driver where it is installed.

Your antivirus doesn't said anything ?

Try USB WriteProtector.

Actually I used different computers for each drive thinking that was the problem but same result. Each computer has different Antivirus and neither notified me of anything. I will try the USB tool and see if that helps and report back.

Sadly the USB tool didnt work. When I opened it the tool said it was switched off, when I tried to switch it on to see if I could do toggle it there was no luck either as it said"error while changing the state of write protection. I am very sure that before I updated the programs on Liberkey everything was not write protected because I checked before hand extensively before giving it another go on the second usb key. After the update no programs show which I am guessing is because the program can not access it due to the write protection. Also have you encountered that error before? It occurs after trying to quit Liberkey and after pressing ok the program does not quit.

I've the same problem. Also with two sticks. When i use LK with WIN XP it work. One use with WIN 7 and the stick is write protected.

2 identic sticks (Corsair Voyager 8 GB)
installed and used on a Desktop with WIN XP SP3
used on a Notebook with WIN 7 and with the first use the problems started.
