I also have this problem, I was trying to add an app & couldn't figure out why the right click was not working, then realized that it was hidden by the main liberkey app.

Is there a link to go back to 4.9 as I don't care to much to waste my time like this, when I just wanted to do something so simple.

thanks

Dear Heiney,
Do you realize that LiberKey is FREE?
I hope you have other opportunities to"waste your time" but to show this kind of attitude.
Some people think everything is granted.

Excellent point.

LiberKey is great, and is actually FREE. Like it? Contribute. Don't like it? Don't use it.

Jerks

I don't care if it's free or not
& I loved it up until it started hiding the menus behind the main LiberKey window.

I use my computer for work, I'm on it all the time, to waste my time trying to figure out why I couldn't install an app into LiberKey wasn't very productive.

I guess I'll go back to PortableApps till a fixed version comes out or unless someone can link me back to LiberKey 4.9

Thank you
Nice support forum you have here

Re: Classic menu (skin?)

The floating menus appear underneath the Liberkey window for me for some reason. However, it is possible for me to slide it out from underneath since its partially exposed. Also, when trying to change or disable the effects in the user prefs, I click on the arrow to the left of 'Default effects' and the menu appears / disappears in one click with no chance to select anything. This is also true when clicking and holding the mouse button down as well. Ugh.

Indeed. I do have a dual-screen running off of a Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset. Would that cause the menus to pop-under?

Hello all!

The problem with the menu "LiberKey tools" that appears behind the main menu LiberKey has been identified.
To better understand what we are talking about, here is a screenshot:
Image

The menu appears behind the main window:
Image

In fact, this problem is not limited to the menu "LiberKey tools". It occurs on all transparent windows that are "always on top".
For example, the context menu that appears when you click (with the right mouse button) on the tab "LiberKey" has the same problem:
With the visible part of the menu (on the left), we can still open the "floating menu"
Image

If you click the button "Always on top" of this floating menu, it should pass on top of the main menu and stay there...
Image

Now, here's what happens:
Image
The menu is "Always on top" but it appears behind the main menu :S
In reality, the popup is well on top of the main menu, but it appears ... behind!
When we move the mouse in the area where the two windows overlap, it is clear that this is the floatting menu that captures its movement.
For example, if placed in the area highlighted in green, the category "System utilities" of the floating menu becomes active.

We have long sought to resolve this problem by making changes in LiberKey, but it was very tedious because we did not know how to reproduce the bug.
Thanks to your feedback we have been able to target the context in which the bug occurs, and it appeared that Windows XP with multiple screens was often concerned ... So we looked in that direction and yesterday we finally were able to reproduce it! Thank you, without this valuable information we could not do it.
After spending a number of days and nights searching for the cause of this problem, we have finally observed ourselves this strange behavior ... and we discovered that this bug only occurs when overlapping windows are both transparent.
This seems very clear in the example below:
Take for example "Notepad"
Image

By moving notepad in the area where the two transparent windows overlap, all becomes clear:
Image
The floating menu is indeed "always on top", and it is displayed on top of notepad, even when the latter is the active application.

At this stage, it became clear that the bug was not in the LiberKey menu..
We have therefore directed our research towards the known issues of Windows and we have found it!
It is listed in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
Article 943326 "Overlapping layered windows are not displayed in In The correct order in Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP". You can view this article at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943326

Fortunately, a Hotfix is available and you can obtain it by completing a form (just an email).
Follow the instructions on this webpage: http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBH ... num=943326
Make sure you take the Hotfix that match your version of Windows.
Demand is taken into account immediately and you will receive an email containing a link to download the patch to apply. The email will also contain a password to use during installation.

Note: This hotfix has not been fully tested.
It therefore relates only systems or computers who have precisely the problem as described.
If you do not experience this problem do not install this hotfix.
The final version will be included in Windows XP Service Pack 4 and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 3

Thank you again for your feedback!
