mp3tag losing some settings after update

Postby noaven » 17 March 2010, 10:41

this happened for second time so i try to find out what is going on ...
(i lose all of my custom columns and some of them became French )

mp3tag's settings are not stored only to mp3tag.cfg

there are some extra settings files to

Apps\Mp3tag\App\Mp3tag\data

like columns.ini for example

thank to god i had a backup and i didnt lose my columns setting (i had made many many modifications and i was boring as a donkey to redo everything lol)

except columns.ini more settings may be stored to

genres.ini
tools.ini
usrfields.ini

and everything (.mta) to the "Actions" folder

generally i think all the data folder contain user settings!

Thanks to your feedbacks noaven !

Answer is that MP3TAg does not support command line parameter in order to specify preferences folder.
consequence, any MP3TAg updates overwrite them.
This is maybe solvable by our packaging, sure that opendev will have a look on it.
