Combofix

Messagede xacked » 01 Février 2011, 06:51

This wasn't done right in the first submission, however I hope with it fully explained the Liberkey team will consider incorporating this program into its database.

The outline:

1. Title: ComboFix
2. Available languages:
3. Compatibility:
Windows XP (32-bit only)
Windows 2000 (32-bit only)
Windows Vista (32-bit/64-bit)
Windows 7 (32-bit/64-bit)
4. Type of License: Freeware (listed on combofix.org)
5. Author description (see website below)
6. My opinion: (see "Significance" below)
7. Authors Website: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofi ... e-combofix
8. Download Page: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/downloa ... s/combofix

Significance:

Every day, hundreds of thousands of users around the world are infected with malware, which is used to steal their personal information, identities, and ruin lives. Fighting malware is tricky, especially when large corporations that make anti-viruses charge users tons of money every year. Combofix is free, it's fast, and it's great at taking out malware. Used in conjunction with other anti-malware tools like superantispyware, malwarebytes, and a good antivirus, there's rarely any malware that can survive that cleaning process.

Combofix is a simple .exe file that needs constant updating, which makes it inherently portable, and it simply copies itself to the host computers root directory, and removes itself once the process is complete.

Thank you
Jonathan
