How to install my own portable apps?

Messagede OneStranger » 09 Février 2011, 00:56

Hello all

first: LiberKey is great, i search long time about something like this.

And now, the problem:

if i download a program like Firefox or Thunderbird from the catalog, the program-language is english. many installed programs i can switch the language, but FF not.

I´m german and engish i understand to talk with you here in the forum, but Options in programs are more difficult.

Now, i downloaded a german version of FF from portableapps.com and put it in "MyApps"-Folder.

then i open the LiberKey-menu, chose the right category with right-click and chose "New shortcut"--> "application /file".

now it doesn't matter if i choose the "FirefoxPortable.exe" (the FF-Starter from portableapps.com) or the directly .exe from FF (path: "C:\LiberKey\MyApps\Firefox deutsch\App\Firefox\Firefox.exe") its EVER the same: Liberkey show the new shortcut, few seconds later freezes in. I can only shut the up. after the Newstart, the Liberkey "forgot" the shortcut.

the LiberKey-Tool "Add / Remove Programs" from "Manage programs" found it also not, because it search only in "APP" for new apps.

who was a idea? What can i do?

I've the newest version (5.1.021) and WIN XP / SP 3

Hello OneStranger.

OneStranger a écrit:its EVER the same: Liberkey show the new shortcut, few seconds later freezes in. I can only shut the up. after the Newstart, the Liberkey "forgot" the shortcut.

We can not reproduce the problem.
A new shortcut can be also added with a drag-n-drop of the executable in the LiberKeyMenu.
Does the same behavior appears in this case ?
