[SOLVED] Version checker / Update checker doesn't work

Hello to everyone,

I'm new to this forum. I'm using LiberKey since two or three months and was/am happy with it. But now I need help...
After changing to a new USB stick I've installed LiberKey on it as well. But since then the update checker doesn't work anymore. I see a process LKAppsVCheck.exe running. Although there are new versions (I can see that on the website/application catalog - there are those yellow up-arrows), nothing happens. When I start the update manually (from the LiberKey Tools) I get a window with the information "no updates found for LiberKey, x updates found for applications, ...", but when I choose "update now" nothing happens except for a new process LKAppsVCheck.exe.

All worked well on the old USB stick...

I have Win XP Home SP3 and this is my LiberKey:

LiberKey USB Eject - 2.0.10 - LkDiskEjector\LkEject.exe
LiberKey Portable Desktop Shortcuts - 0.1.0.54 - PDS\PDS.exe

I didn't find anything regarding this problem, but I didn't look up posts older than two months.
Can anyone help me?

Hello hotel-encore and welcome on forums.

Your liberkey's tools programs seem well update.
But maybe a configuration's file of them had an error.

Close all programs of your Liberkey (and all Liberkey Tools). Download a new liberkey and install it in another directory but don't run it. Make a copy for backup of your old Liberkey tools directory. These files can help us to understand where is problem.
Then make a copy of the files one by one of the new liberkey and paste it in the old (for example replace F:\LiberKey\LiberKeyTools\LKAppsVCheck\lkAppsVCheck.xml by C:\LiberKey\LiberKeyTools\LKAppsVCheck\lkAppsVCheck.xml if you have installed the new Liberkey on C:) .
You have probably to replace the files of LKAppsVCheck and Installer.
Launch your Liberkey. Your problem is probably solved.
If replacing files of these folder don't work for your Liberkey, retry these work with KeyFileAssoc.

thanks for your reply.

I've changed the files in the folders LKAppsVCheck and Installer.
Now I have to wait until there is a new version of one of my applications.
I'll reply again later, if it has worked.

Hello again,

the new version of Thunderbird has been installed after I chose "searching for updates".
This (manually) part works well now.
I don't know if this works automatically. I wasn't patient enough...
