Update Issue-Wiped Out All Apps from MenuI just updated due to a prompt from my Liberkey, and when it updated, it wiped all of my menu. It then installed 10 apps randomly-I have hundreds and hundreds of apps/shortcuts-Is there a way to recover this-or am I SOL?
I've read the other forum threads that are similar, and it seems there is no solution as of yet. I'm running XP. Please Help! Dana
Re: Update Issue-Wiped Out All Apps from MenuHello danatheteacher,
Could you precise the type of update ? (4.9 to 5.0 , 5.0 beta to 5.0 , 5.0 to 5.0)
Re: Update Issue-Wiped Out All Apps from MenuIt was the update that imports 4.9 menu into the new 5 menu. I can't be more specific than that. I had 4.9 when I opened it today, and it gave me two updates to install.
Re: Update Issue-Wiped Out All Apps from MenuOk, so I figured out how to restore it to the pre 5.0. To troubleshoot further, I tried to import again. The import could not find a folder that was listed in the XML and it froze. I went and deleted that entry from the XML. It worked.
HOWEVER-The menu was imported, but now it cannot find any of my applications or their icons. They are listed, but if you click on them, it says "file not found". Seriously, what is up with this update? Dana
Re: Update Issue-Wiped Out All Apps from MenuOk, so I just restarted it after my previous post where it at least imported my previous menu and now everything is gone-completely blank.
Re: Update Issue-Wiped Out All Apps from MenuNext development.
I copied the backup from the most recent troubleshoot back to the Liberkey folder and it remained updated instead of reverting and all my menu items are there, as well as the icons. Everything works now....I haven't tried restarting again, but it may be solved. Although, I don't know why it worked.
Re: Update Issue-Wiped Out All Apps from MenuHello danatheteacher.
4.x to 5.0 is a very specific update. A lot of changes have been done and one of the most important is the LiberKey Menu. Due to the new format, menu from Asuite are imported and "translated" in the LiberKey Menu format.
Thank you for taking time to post your feedbacks.
