Old folders left when updating apps

Each time I upgrade an application, when I look at the 'apps' folder, I can see 'Appname_2010-01-01-01-01-01'
Each folder seems to contain the application, however the original folder (eg. Audacity) only contains an AppInfo.lbk file, so the links on my liberkey do not work. Each folder with the name_date_time string after contains all of the applications files.
Can anyone help please?
thanks in advance

It were failed updates, keep the most recent one (rename the folder if needed) and delete the old folders.

The updates didn't fail, it's just the folder structure that has the error, it happens every time I update - and happens on every single application, so renaming folders every time isn't really a good solution

I'm not sure to understand this point. Do you mean by "error" that the folder with date inside always remains after each updates, for any application ? Is it really happenning for all applications ? This could be a right access issue. If you are under Vista or seven, maybe the folder access rights are not enough high for your account. Try running Liberkey as administrator with elevated privileges (right clic option "run as administrator").
In a successfull update, the folder is removed.
If not, even if you don't see it directly, you would have an error replacing or deleting some files. It could be a write access error due to different user rights, it could be because some exe or dll are in use or kept by the system or the antivirus, etc.

each time I update any application, here is an example of my folder structure:
instead of getting this:
(another app)
freedownloadmanager
(another app)
I get this:
FreeDownloadManager (all this contains is AppInfo.lbk)
FreeDownloadManager_2010-04-19_18-34-38 (each of these contain the complete app, with all data/files etc)
FreeDownloadManager_2010-04-26_16-47-29 (each of these contain the complete app, with all data/files etc)
FreeDownloadManager_2010-05-05_16-26-32 (each of these contain the complete app, with all data/files etc)
I use liberkey on multiple computers to update, and whilst I mainly use Windows7, I get the same results on Vista. On each computer I am the administrator, and several computers use Microsoft Security essentials, as well as one with symantec end point protection (used on a domain)

Where is located your Liberkey folder ? We strongly recommend to use <drive_root>\Liberkey folder
Did you installed Liberkey with elevated privileges ? You maybe need to run Liberkey with elevated privileges (sometimes, this is not enough to be "administrator" account).

It is currently installed onto the root of USB stick:
<drive>:\Liberkey\Apps
I guess I'll try and re install it again using 'run as administrator' - better backup my documents/apps first though, is it enough to just copy the apps folders and replace them on a new install?
ie. copy app\filezilla folder and replace it onto the new installation?

No, you will probably loose menu changes (Asuite.xml in Apps\Asuite folder), better idea is to copy LiberkeyTools folder indeed.

Ok if Firefox version are the same.
