Good afternoon from UK (sorry my French is not up to the task of explaining my problem)

This is a new installation. I have registered as requested using the link when trying to start program update.

Username: this is OK
Password: the field disappears and I cannot recover it; the password is declared invalid.

So how do I fix this issue?

First question: after your registration, did you receive the email with the link for the very first connection? This step is important.
