I've just updated to the final LiberKey 5 version. But now most of my links are lost, I only see the empty folders. The program folders are still available, but I can not add the links to the programs, because the program-add remains in the background and I can not get it to the foreground.
Any way to reinstall the lost links?

tried this also to get back my lost program links after updating to final version (see http://www.liberkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=4223&p=27639#p27639.
But that also didn't help. I can see all my previous program folders but without any link to a program. I also can not reinstall the program links manually (see my post).

Do you have a custom tree in Asuite menu ? (your shortcuts in other category than My Applications)
Can you provide a example of your path link.

Currently, LiberKeyMenu doesn't show the shortcut link if it can't find the executable.

no, I don't use other links to the executables. That's what I'm wondering about. I made no changes to the links.
After reinstalling my previous backups (made with Abakt), the menu is fine now, all links are there and I can work as before.

I spent a lot of time to update to the final version 5 - but all I tried didn't help in any way.
To get back a running version I restored a backup I have made some days ago - after that, all thinks were fine. But I was not able to update my installed programs. I always was asked before to update to version 5 - but the update didn't work well. I allways got the same error during installation: An error occurred while attempting to move the folder U:\Programme_1\Liberkey\LieberkeyTools. Please check that this folder is not currently open ........
Checked for open folder, but it was closed and not in use.

After several tries I decided to install LiberKey Ver5 completely new, but I run into the same error. Clicking on the reply button brings back the same error. Clicking on the abort button closes the windown, but then the Liberkey.exe file and components are missing and I can not start the program.

I really don't know what to do now?! I can not update my applications because I have to update LiberKey before. But that doesn't work!!!!

Any suggestion or idea how to get rid of this ??!!

Can you try with the setup and choose the path of your LiberKey during the step "Select Destination Location".

Close your LiberKey before and check that there is no process linked to your LiberKey path in progress.

Did this before, but that didn't help.

I now have installed Liberkey 5 completely new, copied my menues back and it works. But I cannot update my apps, Liberkey always tells me to update first to the new version.

When updating i'm always told that there is a backup and that this backup will be damaged when updating. By pressing the OK button, the update process runs, but after update liberkey.exe can not be found. So I always have to reinstall the program again without the option to update my applications.

It's boring, I spent a lot of time since yesterday and I could not find out, what happens and why. I' m happy about any idea or suggestion.

Another test:

Try to manually rename the folder \LiberKey\LiberKeyTools to \LiberKey\LiberKeyTools_4.x

and again apply the patch from setup.

Tried that out but still got these 2 messages:
"Error - can not backup the file \apps\asuite" and
"An error occurred while attempting to move the folder u:\programme_1\liberkey\apps\asuite. Pls. check ....."

The folder is not open, Liberkey application is closed. Don't know what to do now......

We have tried with exactly the same path as yours (U:\programme_1\LiberKey) and we can't reproduce this error.

When you install a new LiberKey build 0901 there is actually a patch to apply after the first launch but it does not contain the migration system (4.x to 5.0).

How do you proceed for this step ?

Nota: LiberKey 5 and LiberKey 4.x are radically different. Menu from previous version 4.x (Asuite) are imported and converted during the upgrade process in the new LiberKeyMenu format.
