Im not able to update the apps anymore. It starts downloading and before finished that task, aborts and reports that update is complete - but nothing happened.

Additionally Im not quite sure if my LiberyKey itself updates anymore.

Right your LiberKey is still 5.0 Though there is already an official version 5.1.
My suggestion: Try the Offline Patch

None of the patches work with my installation. Message: "unable to apply this update to your liberkey"

Any idea what to do?

Have you tryed desactivate your antivirus and/or your firewall during these updates ?
Sometimes they blocked the liberkey during updates.
(http://www.liberkey.com/fr/forums/tutoriels-et-faq/solved-liberkey-stopped-by-firewall-2338.html#p2328 ) especially if your antivirus is Avira Webguard (http://www.liberkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4313#p28028 (in french)).

Ive tried it on 2 machines with different scanners and using it for over a year now without problemns.
Ive tried it again at work with deacvtivated Sophos AV to be sure -- with no success. Downloading is no problem but installing fails or is not even tried.

You should have something like: Liberkey 5.0 - patch_number - de

So what is the content of your file \LiberKeyTools\version.ver ?

Following your first post, it seems your LiberKey is 5.0.1217.

So your version.ver file should include :

   <Version>5.0</Version>
   <Patch>20101217175330</Patch>
</LiberKeyVersion>

I replaced the contents of the file and it works like a charm: I can update LK and its apps without problems. Thanks again for your help and keep up the good work!
