Hi,
I'm using liberkey for more than a year now
I get everything installed and working fine.
In the last 3 month i tried everything to upgrade 3 of my application but only this application didn't succeed to installed and get this error:
"Data extraction failed
The previous version has been restored."
or
"An error occurred during the installation of this application."

I looked at the forum and also tried everything:
1. Uninstall and install again:
I succeed to uninstall but not to reinstall after uninstall complete.
2. I tired to shut down and run again
3. I checked that I'm running as administrator account
4. I tried to download another liberkey on my machine and compare but the installation failed in the new liberkey also.
5. I tired to cut and paste the liberkey to another location and unlock locked files and update from another location on my machine.
6. i tired to delete manually everything with the applications that have the problem and reinstall it.
7. Repair and clean by every tool
8. Download the file from liberkey and install it manually.

I didn't succeed.
I have all the applications of liberkey and the problem are in :
1. uTorrent 3.1 build 26616 (more than 3 months).
2. Thunderbird 8.0
3. Glary Utilities 2.40.0.1326

(It works but can't by updated)

What is the solution?

Firstly: Respect! You have read the forum and tried much.

Have you tried to copy your LiberKey on an USB-drive and try it on an other computer? Then you will know whether the problem is in LiberKey or in your machine.
(If it will work on the other computer, reinstall windows, it solves every problem)

Or, an uneducated guess:
Maybe an antivirus ist blocking uTorrent (and it's installation). But this would not explain the update failure of the two other applications.

I have no further ideas yet. I myself could update uTorrent without any problems.

What is your anti-virus ? Try to deactivate it temporally and try again to install your applications

I tired also to turn off the firewall, turn off Anti virus, create exceptions in my security for liberkey
and also copy to another computer but all thing still failed in the 3 Applications.

(Each on of the Application been succeed before but each application on its on time begin to failed in the upgrade process).

I also tried to install new liberkey in another drive and add just the applications that been failed to update/install.
also failed in the new liberkey installation.

Any other idea?

Are you sure having those applications closed before performing the update ? (take care if you setup them to start at Liberkey startup)

If yes, try the following:
- Go to your %temp%\lbkData folder (Start -> Run -> type "cmd" then Enter -> type "echo %temp%" in order to know it)
- Just after the download, copy the downloaded .lks into another folder
- Rename the .lks to .zip
- Opens it using 7zip.

Let us know if it works.

Hi,

1. All the liberkey Applications are shutdown and also i tried to shutdown Liberkey after download the file and same error.

2. I try to download uTorrent into another path in c:\OtherFolder
(uTorrent_3.1_build_26616.lks)
I change to file "uTorrent_3.1_build_26616.lks" with size 1,488 KB into "uTorrent_3.1_build_26616.zip"
I extract the files and folder and i get this files and folders:

*uTorrent
*settings.dat
*utorrent.lng
*license.txt
*Data (empty folder)
*uTorrent - license.txt
*uTorrentLKL.dat
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
As you can see there is no execution file and some other files are missing.

Any ideas?

The problem is certainly due to your antivirus configuration. It is maybe too restrictive and detects false positives. Which one is it ? Do you have its virus signature up to date ? Did you check antivirus logs or quarantine ?

I've sent the utorrent lks to Virus total to check which antivirus detects it as false positive and the results are 0 detections.
