Personal Review:
This is something the world has been waiting for. Google Refine is the data sifting tool I've wished I had for years. It comes with the to-be-expected quality of an official Google product, and is highly effective at normalizing data from disparate sources into a merged, complete package. The application runs as a small, self-contained webserver, which interfaces with the browser. Respecting the sensitivity of the possible uses of the data, all data manipulation takes place on the local machine. Best of all, the application is natively portable. Just unzip the download and run. You couldn't ask for an easier addition to the library. Be sure to watch the videos on their home page to get the full scope of what it can do.
