FileZilla: LiberKey pathes don't work (because of the {})?

Postby Dirki » 09 June 2010, 23:27

In some applications, e.g. FileZilla (there "Settings" "User Interface" external programs) the pathes of LiberKey (e.g.
png "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe" -open
jpg "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe" -open
gif "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe" -open)
don't seem to work because of the brackets, I assume.

There appears an error message like: Cannot open the application

What could I do to make the programs run?

I am not sure anymore...may be I unzipped the downloaded LiberKey file with e.g. 7zip or so...

Shouldn't there be any brackets: {app}?

It seems you didn't install LiberKey with the setup (universal extractor maybe ?).

So install LiberKey with the setup or rename {app} with a name directory like LiberKey.

Thank you opendev,

The path to the applications is e.g.:
I:\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\App\XnView\xnview.exe

So, what are the pathes when you install LiberKey by double clicking the exe file?

Can I just delete all the {apps} folders of I:\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\App\XnView\xnview.exe

So the pathes would and should look like:
I:\LiberKey\Apps\XnView\App\XnView\xnview.exe
I:\LiberKey\Apps\app1\App\app1\app1.exe
I:\LiberKey\Apps\app2\App\app2\app2.exe

And is it the same when I just delete the {apps} folders with a properly installed LiberKey or should I better re-install LiberKey? So, will there be any difference between a LiberKey installed the normal way and one just unzipped after deleting the {apps} folder?

And will after deleting the {apps} folder the file associations (done by Key Files Assoc' including all the one I added) remain usable?

Thanks again.

Hello,

And it's really just an example.

XnView doesn't understand -open command, your line must be:
png "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe"
jpg "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe"
gif "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe"

Everything will just work fine if you move all subfolders from "Liberkey\{app}\" into "Liberkey\" (and then delete empty "{app}" folder)

Sorry, I do not quite understand.

XnView doesn't understand -open command, your line must be:

png "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe"
jpg "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe"
gif "\LiberKey\{app}\Apps\XnView\XnViewLKL.exe"

These lines are added to FileZilla to open an external program for special files (e.g. png); without -open, it XnView doesn't open, also.

Thank you Dji.

Everything will just work fine if you move all subfolders from "Liberkey\{app}\" into "Liberkey\" (and then delete empty "{app}" folder)

I have done it like that. I am wondering, whether there might be a lot of pathes, which aren't correct anymore, e.g. clicking a link in an e-mail in Thunderbird doesn' t open Firefox anymore, nothing happens.

And there are some leftovers:

I:\LiberKey
embedded
install_script.iss
-------------------

I:\LiberKey\embedded
english.isl
InfoBefore.txt
License.txt
WizardImage.bmp
WizardSmallImage.bmp
-------------------
5 files

Do I need these files or can I delete them?

Thanks for helping, nice greetings, Dirk

Normally, Liberkey installer would not be bypassed, this is why you have so much "install wizard" folders...

This is how your folder structure would be if you use universal extractor to open and extract Liberkey install package:

And this is how it should be :

Tested again (FileZilla + XnView) and it works fine.

FZ fails opening files
