Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PC@snoopyeab: Thanks for your reply; before using my LK on the local hard drive, it was on a USB stick but, because it was a 2.0 usb stick, I copyed all the LK on C: using the SUBST command to keep working all application links.
@Dji: yes, at now the LK belong to a directory in the local hard drive without any SUBSTed letter or network connection. I recap the history of my LK, only to be 100% sure too that I explain it as good as possible. - some day in 2012: I installed LK on a 16Gb usb key, I forced its mapping using the "U:" drive. The LK belong in U:\Apps\Liberkey path. I use the LK only in a PC at my work place (Win7-32bit). - some day in 2013: because of the usb key was very slow during r/w operation, I copied all USB stick content in the local directory C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Apps\Liberkey and, to be sure that every link still working good, I've created a SUBSTed drive U: (like the drive letter of the USB stick) that points the C:\Users\<username>\Documents directory - some day in 2015: In my office, there was a restriction of some internet policies, so I'm not able to update the LK longer. The only way to update the LK was to do this at my home. - at the end of 2015: I copied ALL LK directory in my work PC to an USB stick. At my home, in a used PC bought few month before (OS installed from scratch, Win7-64bit), I created an username like the one in my work PC and copied the whole content of the USB stick in the same directory C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Apps\Liberkey, still using the SUBST method. - yesterday: I use Dji suggestion and remove every SUBSTed reference in my work PC, copied the LK onto an USB stick and copied it on the same directory at home, but still didn't work: an error on the LiberKeyPortabilizer was shown. I would like to let you know that every copy step described above, was made with ALL LK application stopped, including LKPortabilizer and LK menu.

Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PCSorry... I forgot to answer
Here are my techinfo options on my PC @ work. This evening, I will post techinfo of my PC @ home
Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PC
Damn, please please don't use so long folder path, use C:\Liberkey indeed (or something really really short without usage of subst or symbolic link) "Si boire des coups, aller au concert ou au match, ça devient un combat
Alors tremblez, terroristes ! Parce qu'on est surentraînés !" @glecalot
Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PCOn my work PC it's quite impossible to do because:
1) root dir is with no write permission 2) "Documents" dir must contain "z-Docs" path to identify personal documents 3) "000-backup" dir must exist because it was saved every day from the IT backup procedure of all PC. In PC @ work, LK works well. In PC @ home, LK doesn't work, also if I put that into C:\Liberkey directory
Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PC@Home, did you tried to install from scratch an empty Liberkey ? To check it works as is
If yes and if it works, just copy/paste Apps/MyApps folders to your @Home Liberkey and try to use "menu restore" feature: Liberkey Tools -> Manage Applications -> Add/Remove programs -> Add applications -> From "Apps" folder (and also -> From "MyApps" folder) "Si boire des coups, aller au concert ou au match, ça devient un combat
Alors tremblez, terroristes ! Parce qu'on est surentraînés !" @glecalot
Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PCAs I promised today, these are tech info on HomePC
The only 2 differences are: 1) the OS that are 32bit (@work) and 64bit (@home) as I told you before. So this is a known difference. 2) On the "liberkey" row, there is something between the bracket in WorkPC, such as version (1.15). In HomePC there isn't anything. And this isn't a known difference Because of now it's 12.23AM, it's time to go sleep for me Tomorrow (or, better, thursday) I'll check Dji' suggestion (LK from scratch and copy Apps dir, then menu restore) See you soon ...and THANKS to you all!!!!!!! Really
Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PCHere I am again
- I installed a brand new LK installation on c:\Liberkey - I installed only an app (7zip) to test that the brand new installation works. And so it goes. - I copied all the Apps dir into the brand new installation, overwrite the 7zip folder. - Try to use the "menu restore" as described. - All apps are available but... If I click on AIMP (for example), an error screen appears. If I run a browser, it doesn't start without any message... These are TechInfo
Any help will be appreciated Cheers from Florence ...good night
Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PC
Do you mean FirefoxLKL.exe, OperaLKL.exe, etc. ? Please compare LKL.exe and .dat dates check they are equal if you install app from scratch and from the one you have @Work "Si boire des coups, aller au concert ou au match, ça devient un combat
Alors tremblez, terroristes ! Parce qu'on est surentraînés !" @glecalot
Re: LK doesn't work copying on another PCThanks Dji for your support.
Yes, I mean FirefoxLKL.exe, ChromeLKL.exe and so on I'll check your suggestion in the weekend. Thanks a lot!!!
