I use Avira Security Suite, and I am using it for years. And as I said, before the update to 4.7 everything was fine. Also, I cleaned all Avira firewall rules, and when I run update from LiberKey, Firewall activates and asks for action, and I allow the connection. But, still nothing. For the past week I have tried all kinds of things, I tried to update from other computers (LiberKey is installed on external HDD), and nothing.

I am using Avira Premium Security Suite + Comodo Firewall (I am not using Avira's Firewall feature as well as Comodo's Anti-virus feature).

LiberKey 4.7 updates is working fine on My XP professional SP3.

Try to deactivate the AntiVir WebGuard before updating Liberkey.
That helped for me.

Rightclick on the Antivir trayicon and click on AntiVir WebGuard.

When you have done that it should show "WebGuard: deactivated" when hovering with the curser over the trayicon of Antivir.

In my case updates works fine even with Avira's WebGaurd: Active.

Unfortunately for me, the update is not working also after the patch. I wonder why? I've tried across multiple computers with different OS(XP, Vista) with different AVs(NOD32, AVG, Avast) and still no luck. I hope the admins would look into this.

My LiberKey is installed on an external NTFS drive on the root.

LiberKey still rocks!

Check your FIREWALL - it might be blocking.

I have the same issue with Avira on Win7 (Home Prem, 32) and Liberkey 4.7. The Avira WebGuard blocks the update requests. If the Webguard is switched off, the automatic update notification works.
Unfortunatelly, I haven't found out how to setup the exemption for liberkey in Webguard (*.liberkey.* [Domain] and *.lbkinst [MIME-Type] don't work).
How does the update function work?
Surprisingly, if no update is available, then the messagebox notifying this, pops up without problems, i.e. Webguard is activated. But the window, indicating the updates, is blocked and an error message from liberkey pops up.

The liberkey-update function/notification on XP SP3 works with Avira Webguard, but not on Win7.

I don't want to switch off Webguard completly just for liberkeys sake, but keep the automatic liberkey update notification.
Please help us!

Since I am using Comodo Firewall - I am not facing any problem.

But I think you can set rules in Avira Webgaurd rules.

This is not required to fully deactivate WebGuard, adding the following URL "*.liberkey.com" to the Webgaurd's exclusion list is enough to allow Liberkey updates working right.
