False Positive with Avira Antivir 9 - LiberKey Tools

Postby Haegar » 10 April 2010, 11:44

Sorry, but I can't do this in french...

AV9 reported:

\LiberKey\LiberKeyTools\lkSplash.exe 'TR/Patched.IV.19' [trojan]
\LiberKey\LiberKeyTools\Uninstaller\LKUnins.exe 'TR/Patched.IV.17' [trojan]
\LiberKey\LiberKeyTools\PDS\PDS.exe 'TR/Patched.IV.16' [trojan]

for version 4.7.
I'm still running a complete scan but it seems that version 4.8 also has some issues...

They are still problems with the last Antivir database viruslist of Avira.

False Virus Detection?

Postby Bettnaesser » 14 April 2010, 13:26

Hope this is the right place to post...

I'm using Avira AntiVir Personal and just got an Alarm:

In der Datei 'C:\Program Files\LiberKey\LiberKeyTools\lkSplash.exe'
wurde ein Virus oder unerwünschtes Programm 'TR/Patched.IV.19' [trojan] gefunden.
Ausgeführte Aktion: Datei in Quarantäne verschieben

Emsisoft A-Squared Free false posives

Postby Gloucestershire » 30 April 2010, 18:35

Scanning Liberkey Ultimate with Emsisoft A-Squared Free Antivirus
has given me the following 'Trojan.Patched!IK' 'High' risk level false positives:

F:Liberkey\LiberkeyTools\PDS\PDS.exe
F:Liberkey\LiberkeyTools\LKMyAppsMerge.exe
F:Liberkey\LiberkeyTools\LKSplash.exe
F:Liberkey\LiberkeyTools\Uninstaller\LKUnins.exe

A-Squared manages totally outstanding malware detection rates
but in being so meticulous, it also flags more false positives than most!

Have submitted these samples to Emsisoft.

I let the 'Trojans' out of the Quarantine.

Scanned memory stick again with SUPERAntispyware.
Nothing found.

Scanned again with Avast
Not a sausage.

All clear sounded
