[Solved] Chrome will not start – any hints?

Messagede FernandoCabral » 11 Juin 2011, 14:53

First time trying Chrome using Liberkey. When I try to launch it, I got the message "Unable to prepare the execution context for the portable application. Please close all open windows and start the application again".

I tried that, but it did not work.

I reinstalled Google Chrome from the scratch, it did not work either.

I found the following message on the log file:
"[0611/093235:ERROR:client_util.cc(259)] Could not find exported function RelaunchChromeBrowserWithNewCommandLineIfNeeded
[0611/093240:ERROR:client_util.cc(259)] Could not find exported function RelaunchChromeBrowserWithNewCommandLineIfNeeded

I also found an empty file named "First Run" (0 bytes).

Now, regular Chrome works fine.

Any hints?

Please tell us which windows version (XP, vista, Seven, etc), which Service Pack (SP1, SP2, etc) , 32 or 64 bits for windows ?

When you got the message box with the error, please run Process Explorer in parrallel, then find chrome.exe in the process list, right-click choice "Properties" and let us know the command line of chrome.exe

Ok you for your suggestion. That's what I did: I installed the PAF version, it worked fine.
I integrated it with LiberKey and then I uninstalled the LiberKey version. Since this way it
is working to my satisfaction, I won't take your time to figure out what the problem is with the
"regular" LiberKey version.

Thanks a lot.

I am really sorry. I was not ware of this possibility. When I read your message I had already deleted LiberKey Chrome.
Next time I need help I'll make sure I grab these information.

Sorry for that.
