Thunderbird does not start at all. I tried on Win XP SP3 and a fresh Win7 (with latest Updates). Different AntiViurs on each system. Both users have admin rights. Runs on a USB Stick.

Following error message in WIn7:

Sorry, its a German language installation.

Any hints?

Hello fnagel.

For test:
rename the folder \Apps\Thunderbird\Data into \Apps\Thunderbird\Data_old and launch Thunderbird.
Does it start ?

If not,
rename the folder \Apps\Thunderbird into \Apps\Thunderbird_old and do a fresh install from catalog.
(confirm re-installation message)

Same problem ?

Thanks a lot, your second approach worked for me. I already tried to reinstall TB but without renaming / deleting the old one. I will remember next time.

Thanks for your fast response.

Felix

We are working on this in order to provide more localizations for this application (and some others).

Currently,
Download the file de.xpi in this folder for Thunderbird 3.1.6 and drop it in the add-ons windows
(Tools >> Add-ons)
Go to Options, Advanced, in General's Tab choose Configuration Editor. The panel about:config appear. In filter type general.useragent.local , set value to de and restart Thunderbird.

The update process will keep this setting.
