Hi,

every time liberkey starts - the update icon is coming up - but the updates are allready installed.
if i exit liberkey and restart it again without unplugging my external usb-hdd, the update-icon is coming up.
So it seems that my liberky installation does not remember that the update is allready done.
Please help me to solve that problem...

I've recently noticed the following auto-update problems with Liberkey:

1. It keeps asking me to updated to version 4.5. Even if I let it to do it (download and install the patch) it keeps asking for the update next time Liberkey is restarted. I even downloaded the complete package and installed it over old installation which helped for a few weeks but the problem returned.

2. I can't update 4 applications:

• Bill2's Process Manager
• EssentialPIM
• Firefox
• Universal Extractor

Liberkey exhibits the same behavior in case of each those application - it starts downloading and when the progress bar reaches to the middle of star at the end of progress bar area the whole process is restarted and keeps repeating. I had to hide those 4 applications in order to successfully update many of other applications.

This seems to be related to my OS which is Vista 64. I could successfully update another Liberkey installation (from my pen drive) without any problems under XP in the same network (to rule out network/firewall problems).

I tried to update the pen drive from other machines but two attempts have been unsuccessful so far (Windows 7 and Vista 32-bit) because Liberkey stopped responding after displaying message "Unable to set date for Asuite".

What can I do in order to solve this problem?

Hello.

There are other users who have also problems with updates of their Liberkey under Seven.

The problem is related to Seven in management rights and permissions on files.
In particular, check the message 19657 (in french, sorry).
It is best to avoid having LiberKey in the "Program Files" whose elements can be redirected to the "Virtual Store" in Vista and Seven, with additional potential problems.

i am using Windows XP and Avira Antivir Premium

i made following test:
- apply all the proposed updates ( force even if version allready installed.)
- exit liberky and start again: everything works fine

- because i have my own menu structure and the update wrote menu-entries in wrong subcategory i am allways deleting this menu-entries after update. Thats why liberkey wants to update again.
In my opinion that is a very strange behaviour to check a menu-structure and make an update decision on the menu-list.

For example Firefox has now double entries in menu strukture. If i am deleting the firefox menu entry in the yellow field Liberkey wants to install the update again !!!

This is a known problem of Asuite
It's important not to change the structure between Audio to Video.
You can add or modify structure only in My softwares and in My Documents.

In fact, to be more precise, it isn't an asuite problem.

LiberKey updater need to work properly that the user doesn't change anything between LiberKey Tools and Video (don't move separators).

To add an application, use only My Apps.

We have been developing (for quite a long time now) a new launcher. It will be available in LiberKey 5.0
That kind of problems will be solved because the new launcher code is directly connected with the updater and more...

LiberKey 5.0 has a new architecture but for all liberkey 4.x users, the update to LiberKey 5.0 will be automatic. A migration tools will be included.
