Using Liberkey chrome as default browserHello,
This is my first post here and I did try to search for an answer before starting a new thread but I did not find anything to help. I would like to start by saying thank you for such a great program, I have been using it for a few months now and absolutely love it! However, I am having some difficulty in that I have Liberkey Chrome set as my default browser (through the browser's options menus) but when I click a link sent through my instant messenger (Digsby) nothing happens unless I already have an instance of Chrome running (opened through the Liberkey menu). And then, it opens a new window, rather than a new tab! Once I have opened the new chrome window through clicking a link, all other Digsby links will create new tabs in the new open window. I have tried enabling file associations in Liberkey, but it doesn't seem to do anything differently. Can anyone help me? Thank you.
Re: Using Liberkey chrome as default browserHello yoyotlg and welcome on forums.
If you dont have already activated the files'association, do it with the menu Liberkey tools => Enable files associations. In the notification zone you have now with the Liberkey icon, the KFA icon. With a right click on it, a contextual menu is opened. Choose File association configuration. In Files types associated to Liberkey portable applications'windows you can see the registered files types or protocols. You can modify it. Select one of them like URL Internet Adress (URL) then click on Advanced button in the rigth bottom on the window. It opens the File type edition 's window. In it, you probably have : Open with Firefox (Liberkey).
Re: Using Liberkey chrome as default browserYou have two possibilities.
1) You can select these item, choose the modify button then (in the Action modification for the type : Internet...'s windows) go to select Liberkey\Apps\Chrome\ChromeLKL.exe with the select button and replace the first line with Open with Firefox (Liberkey) by Open with Chrome (Liberkey); 2) It's also possible to directly click on New... button, then go to select Liberkey\Apps\Chrome\ChromeLKL.exe with the Search... button and click on OK button. Now, select Open with Google Chrome (Liberkey) then click By default button ; check Replace the current action for these type of file and finally click on the OK button. You'll probably have to do these actions for .htm ; .html, etc... extensions and (http:) URL protocol for completely replace Firefox by Chrome . Finally close the Files types associated to Liberkey portable applications' windows with a click on the Apply Button, then close it with the OK button. Now you must have Chrome as default navigator.
